USS Parche

I was a Navy submariner in my early adult life (see my commentary #93 for a submarine sea story involving my Dad and me at sea...submerged). The link printed below takes you to USS PARCHE...a one-of-a-kind U.S. submarine, which remained very covert in its operations spanning many years.

The U.S. Submarine Force is largely unknown and misunderstood by the American public. It is the only truly stealth military platform, and must remain that way in order for the U.S. to be prepared to meet any foreseeable military threat. My service in the U.S. Submarine Force is perhaps the most meaningful duty I have ever had in service to others. The link below may help you better understand the underwater realm of the U.S. Navy's "Silent Service."
